Blog Readers, Friends, Fellow health-enthusiasts–

What does 2014 hold for Alpine Integrated Medicine?  The first two years of our existence has been more than we could have imagined, and every single person here at AIM is very proud of the work that we’ve been doing, helping people live more healthy, happy, and fulfilled lives.  In that time, we have grown from Dr. Brooke and Nichole just opening the doors, to the development of our IV-Therapy program for the last year.  Jessica, with her always positive demeanor and her new Medical Assistant certification, has also added an important element of support, allowing us to better serve our patients.

This year is going to be awesome.  In the spirit of the new year, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Alison Kerns will be joining us as of mid-January in two capacities.

Firstly, she is a primary care Naturopathic physician (ND), and will be available to see new clients for primary care, women’s health, detoxification, as well as several other specialties that are described below in her Bio, and will be working closely with Dr. Brooke.

Secondly, we are also very excited that Dr. Alison will be developing a series of Yoga classes and ultimately a larger Yoga program here at AIM.  Along with our co-founder and Acupuncture specialist Nichole Santoro, who already teaches a weekly yoga class at AIM, Dr. Alison will bring her advanced and extensive Yoga training to the local Redmond Ridge Community.  Her bio follows this introduction.  Welcome, Dr. Alison.

AIM's newest ND!
AIM’s newest ND!

Alison Kerns, ND, is a naturopathic doctor who focuses on women’s health, mental health, and exploring how her patients want to live while delving into their root cause of suffering and dis-ease. She graduated from Bastyr University, the leading school of naturopathic medicine in the United States, and received a 4-year doctorate.  She then continued her education and passion for physical medicine by becoming a certified massage therapist from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy and then following that she became a yoga instructor after studying at the Shambhava School of Yoga.

Dr. Alison has a passion for ecology and has brought this enthusiasm to her medicine as she continues to inspire her patients to treat themselves and the earth with the utmost respect and humility. Dr. Alison’s role as your naturopathic doctor is to embark on a healing journey with you in order to optimize your health and vitality in the long term.

It is Dr. Alison’s belief that the foundations of optimal health are through healthy relationships, a balanced diet with adequate hydration, movement, plenty of rest, and connection to one’s life purpose as well as a belief in something greater than oneself. In her work with her patients she brings in her wisdom of general medicine, homeopathy, herbal medicine, nutrition, movement therapy, counseling, detoxification, hydrotherapy, biofeedback and guided meditations/ visualizations, and yoga therapy.
